HSBC - Mortgage in a day

Insight

It can take up to 6 weeks get a mortgage application approved, which causes many to miss out on their dream home.

Idea

An experience in main branches that rewarded customers and created interest in the service. We installed an empty model villages and 3D printers as a window displays. Any customer that used the ‘Mortgage in a Day’ service, created their own model house to go in the village and potentially win them a £1,000 Ikea voucher. Each printed house was filmed and the timelapsed film was tweeted to the customer.

We also created a fun game to educate staff about the ‘Mortgage in a Day’ service - Snakes & property ladders.

Results

Each model village had 200 empty plots, which were all filled after just 10 days.
